Eligibility - check before you buy

✓You spend at least 35 hours per week caring for one person
✓That person receives one of: PIP daily living component (any rate), Adult Disability Payment daily living (Scotland), Attendance Allowance, Pension Age Disability Payment (Scotland), DLA care (middle or high), Child Disability Payment care (middle or high), Constant Attendance Allowance, or Armed Forces Independence Payment
✓You earn £204 or less per week after tax, NI, and allowable expenses (including pension contributions and certain childcare costs)
✓You are 16 or over and have been in Great Britain for at least 2 of the last 3 years
✓You are not in full-time education (less than 21 hours of supervised study per week)
Important: Carer's Allowance cannot be paid alongside the State Pension or contribution-based ESA or JSA at the same time, because of the overlapping benefits rule. You may still benefit from establishing underlying entitlement. Our report explains how this affects you specifically.

No, the DS700 is mostly structured fields (your name, NI number, addresses, dates, employer details, bank account) that only you can fill in. I live in Scotland. Can I use this?
No. Scottish residents claim Carer Support Payment from Social Security Scotland instead of Carer's Allowance. Apply at mygov.scot/benefits. Our pack is designed for the DS700 used in England and Wales.
